Position Overview

Travel Nursing Job Details
- Specialty: Obstetrics / Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (OBGYN RN)
- Healthcare Setting: Rural hospital maternity and nursery services
- Location: Sweetwater, Texas
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,800-$1,890
- Start Date: October 2, 2026
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks, ending January 1, 2027
- Nursing Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 p.m.-7:00 a.m.
- Hours: 36 hours per week
- Patient Volume: Approximately 30-40 deliveries per month
- Position Type: Travel Registered Nurse assignment
Labor & Delivery RN Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Texas
- At least 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience
- Demonstrated Labor & Delivery experience is required; postpartum-only experience does not meet the requirements
- Ability to care for antepartum, laboring, postpartum, and nursery patients
- Current ACLS, BLS, and NRP certifications
- STABLE certification
- Intermediate fetal monitoring competency
- OB circulating experience preferred
- Strong assessment, communication, prioritization, and teamwork skills
Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to antepartum, laboring, postpartum, and newborn patients
- Monitor maternal and fetal status and recognize changes requiring timely intervention
- Support labor management, delivery, recovery, and postpartum care
- Care for newborns in the nursery and assist with neonatal stabilization as needed
- Apply fetal monitoring knowledge to assess and communicate fetal well-being
- Collaborate with providers and the interdisciplinary care team to promote safe patient outcomes
- Perform accurate documentation, medication administration, patient education, and discharge preparation
- Assist with OB surgical procedures and circulating responsibilities when assigned
