Job Details
- Location: Lynchburg, Virginia
- Setting: Operating Room – CVOR
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: 10/05/2026
- Shift Duration: 8-hour day shifts
- Shift Time: 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,260 – $2,430
- Hours: 40 hours per week
- Call Requirement: Up to three weekday call shifts and up to three weekend call shifts in a six-week schedule
- Weekend Coverage: Expected 2-3 weekends per month based on unit need
- Orientation: Occurs every other Monday
Job Requirements
- At least 2 years of Open-Heart CVOR Tech experience in a similar setting
- Prior travel surgical technologist experience required
- Active CST and Virginia license required prior to start
- CPR/BLS certification required
- Certified Surgical Technologist credential required
- COVID and flu vaccination or approved declination required
- Ability to participate in call coverage and weekend rotations
- All requested time off must be submitted and approved prior to acceptance
Responsibilities
- Assist surgeons and the OR team during open-heart CVOR procedures
- Prepare the operating room with appropriate instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies
- Maintain strict sterile technique and support a safe surgical environment
- Anticipate the needs of the surgical team during complex cardiovascular cases
- Handle instrument counts, setup, and turnover duties efficiently
- Respond to call coverage as scheduled to support unit needs
- Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary staff to promote excellent patient outcomes
