Locum Tenens OB/GYN Job Details

• Location: Colorado Springs, CO

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $45,750-$49,020
• Anticipated Hours: Approximately 32 hours per week
• Shift Duration: 16-hour nights
• Schedule: Weeknight call Monday through Thursday, 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.; weekend call Friday at 5:00 p.m. through Monday at 7:00 a.m. Coverage is needed for three weeknight periods and three weekends.
• Call Structure: Primary offsite pager call with the possibility of significant onsite callback activity
• Clinical Resources: Onsite laboratory and ultrasound, in-house anesthesia, a fully staffed Labor and Delivery nursing team, and an Obstetric Emergency Department
• Electronic Medical Record: Epic; required training must be completed before the first shift

OB/GYN Physician Job Requirements

• Board certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology
• Completion of an OB/GYN residency
• At least 1 year of post-residency clinical experience in obstetrics and gynecology
• Active Colorado physician license or an active IMLC pathway with a letter of qualification in hand at presentation
• Ability to provide specific availability dates from January through April 2027 and commit to complete coverage periods without leaving early
• Active ACLS, BLS, and NRP certifications strongly preferred
• Active DEA registration strongly preferred and required for credentialing
• Current competency in required obstetric, labor and delivery, and gynecologic procedures
• Clean medical professional and background history, with a current self-query NPDB report available during credentialing
• Willingness to complete required Epic training on an available Tuesday or Friday at 8:00 a.m. Mountain Time

OB/GYN Physician Responsibilities

• Provide primary night and weekend call coverage for obstetric and gynecologic patients
• Evaluate and admit antepartum patients and manage patients throughout labor and delivery
• Interpret fetal heart rate monitoring, including NST, CST, and FSE tracings
• Manage routine and high-risk pregnancies, including patients with preeclampsia, diabetes, cardiac disease, pulmonary disease, renal disease, multiple gestations, and other complex conditions
• Perform routine vaginal deliveries, low-forceps deliveries, cesarean sections, breech deliveries, multiple-birth deliveries, and management of abruptions
• Manage VBACs and repair third- and fourth-degree lacerations
• Respond to gynecologic emergency department consultations
• Perform emergent gynecologic procedures, including open surgery for ectopic pregnancy, oophorectomy, cystectomy, extensive lysis of adhesions, and suction D&C
• Manage cesarean complications, including cases requiring hysterectomy
• Round on patients daily and coordinate care with Labor and Delivery staff and consulting services
