NICU Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – 13-Week Night Shift Assignment in Fort Wayne, Indiana
Join a dedicated neonatal care team as a Travel Registered Nurse in a Level II NICU in Fort Wayne, Indiana. This 13-week travel nursing assignment offers the opportunity to provide specialized care for newborns in a 31-bed unit while collaborating with an experienced interdisciplinary team. Travel Nursing Job Details
- Specialty: Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Registered Nurse
- Care Setting: Acute care, Level II NICU
- Location: Fort Wayne, Indiana
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,130-$2,250
- Schedule: 36 hours per week
- Shift: 12-hour nights, 7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.
- Assignment Duration: 13 weeks
- Start Date: November 2, 2026
- Unit Details: 31-bed NICU with typical 1:1 or 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratios
- Charting and Medication Systems: EPIC and Pyxis
- Additional Scheduling Information: Mandatory orientation includes seven weekday sessions of 8-hour days
NICU Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- At least 2 years of Level III NICU experience
- Current Indiana Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- Ability to provide compassionate, detail-oriented nursing care in a fast-paced neonatal environment
- Willingness to float to age-appropriate pediatric or PICU assignments when needed
NICU Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to neonates and infants in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
- Monitor patient conditions, assess clinical changes, and escalate concerns appropriately
- Administer medications and treatments safely in accordance with established protocols
- Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient progress in EPIC
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team
- Support families through education, communication, and compassionate bedside care
- Float to age-appropriate pediatric or PICU patients as assigned
