- Charting System: EPIC
- Orientation: 2 days
RN Job Requirements
- Active Illinois RN license required
- Minimum 1 year of recent acute care nursing experience required
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Experience on a dedicated neuro unit required
- Level 1 trauma experience required
- BLS and NIHSS certifications required
- Heparin drip and titratable infusion experience required
- Ability to manage acute neuro patients with varying acuity levels
- Must be comfortable floating within scope and competency
Neuro RN Responsibilities
- Provide safe, high-quality patient care for neuro-medical surgical patients on an acute care neuro unit
- Monitor and manage patients receiving titratable heparin infusions and other drips as assigned
- Care for patients with stroke, spine surgery, seizure, brain tumor, head injury, and additional neuroscience diagnoses
- Collaborate closely with charge nurses, house supervisors, and the interdisciplinary care team to support patient flow and staffing needs
- Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care in a busy neuro med-surg environment
- Float as needed within your skill set and competency to support unit needs
- Document accurately in EPIC and maintain clear communication with the healthcare team
- Follow all unit guidelines related to professional appearance and patient care standards
