Travel RN opportunity in Albuquerque, NM for an experienced Mother/Baby Registered Nurse. - Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,580-$1,660
- Schedule Notes: Weekends required; float expected within like service areas as needed
- Setting: Inpatient postpartum and couplet care
Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in New Mexico or a compact state license eligible for start
- 2 years of experience preferred; unit accepts 1st time travelers
- BLS and NRP required
- Ability to care for postpartum patients, newborns, and a mixed patient population
- Experience with Epic preferred
- Comfortable supporting patient ratios in the 3-4 range
- Willingness to float within related maternal-child health units as needed
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate postpartum nursing and newborn care to mothers and infants
- Perform assessments, monitor recovery, and support couplet care workflows
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards
- Educate families on newborn care, breastfeeding, discharge instructions, and self-care after delivery
- Support common postpartum procedures and interventions, including circumcision teaching, cord care, fundal checks, and incision care
- Monitor for complications such as hemorrhage, hypertension, jaundice, hypoglycemia, and feeding concerns
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to promote safe, positive patient outcomes
