Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Med/Surg Telemetry in Petersburg, Virginia

Job Details
- Position: Travel Registered Nurse – Med/Surg Telemetry
- Employment Type: Travel Contract Nursing Job
- Schedule: 12-hour day shifts
- Hours per Week: 36
- Contract Length: 16 weeks
- Start Date: 8/17/2026
- Location: Petersburg, VA 23805
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,020-$2,130
- Schedule Expectations: Every other weekend and major holiday coverage required
Job Requirements
- Current RN license in the state of practice or compact licensure
- Minimum of 1 year of recent acute care nursing experience required
- Minimum of 1 year of travel nursing experience required
- Med/Surg Telemetry experience required
- BLS certification required
- Ability to pass an EKG exam at orientation
- EPIC experience preferred
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic hospital environment
Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care to Med/Surg Telemetry patients in an acute care setting
- Complete patient assessments, develop plans of care, and evaluate outcomes
- Monitor telemetry rhythms and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with best practices and facility standards
- Collaborate closely with physicians, monitor technicians, CNAs, and the multidisciplinary care team
- Care for general surgery, trauma, and post-operative patients
- Float to other Med/Surg units as needed
- Promote patient safety, comfort, and compassionate care at all times
