Registered Nurse (RN) Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse license eligible for practice in Georgia
• At least 1 year of professional nursing experience; 2 years of bedside clinical experience is strongly preferred
• Experience caring for medically complex patients in LTAC, acute care, critical care, or a comparable healthcare setting is preferred
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required before the first shift
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required before the first shift, as applicable to the assignment
• Strong clinical judgment, patient assessment, communication, organization, and documentation skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with patients, families, providers, and interdisciplinary team members

LTAC Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments within the required timeframe and develop individualized plans of care
• Deliver, evaluate, and document safe, evidence-based nursing care for patients with complex medical needs
• Monitor patient status and promptly communicate changes to the care team and providers
• Participate in interdisciplinary conferences, rehabilitation programming, discharge planning, and patient and family education
• Initiate teaching from admission through discharge to support patient goals and successful transitions of care
• Delegate appropriately and provide direction, training, and supervision to nursing support personnel
• Promote patient safety, infection prevention, safe patient handling, and a secure care environment
• Prioritize assignments, manage time effectively, and support efficient unit operations
• Maintain accurate, timely medical record documentation and support continuity of care during handoffs
• Assume charge responsibilities after orientation when requested and contribute to a positive team environment
