Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Nursing Contract in Ypsilanti, MI

Travel Nursing Job Details
- Location: Ypsilanti, Michigan, near Ann Arbor
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,980-$2,080
- Unit: Progressive Care Unit (PCU), 10 East
- Assignment Type: 13-week Registered Nurse travel contract
- Start Date: November 2, 2026
- End Date: January 31, 2027
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 p.m.-7:30 a.m.
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Holiday Requirement: Holiday coverage is required as scheduled, including one designated holiday grouping during the assignment.
PCU Travel Nurse Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Michigan
- At least 1 year of recent Progressive Care Unit, step-down unit, or comparable acute-care nursing experience
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Recent experience with Epic electronic health records (EHR)
- Strong patient assessment, clinical judgment, communication, and time-management skills
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and meet the assignment’s holiday coverage requirements
Progressive Care Unit RN Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients requiring progressive-care monitoring and intervention.
- Assess patient conditions, recognize changes in status, and promptly escalate concerns to the appropriate care team.
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately in accordance with established protocols.
- Monitor vital signs, cardiac status, neurological condition, and other relevant clinical indicators.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care.
- Document assessments, interventions, patient responses, and care coordination activities in Epic.
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, and other members of the interdisciplinary team.
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatments, medications, and discharge planning.
- Promote patient safety, infection prevention, quality outcomes, and a respectful care environment.
