Travel RN Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,800-$1,890
• Location: Pikeville, Kentucky
• Employment Type: Travel nursing contract
• Contract Length: 8 weeks
• Start Date: November 2, 2026
• End Date: December 28, 2026
• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 p.m.-7:30 a.m.
• Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours per week; 36-hour schedules are not accepted
• Weekend and Holiday Coverage: Every other weekend and holiday rotation required, unless time off is approved
• Scheduling: No blocked scheduling
• Float Expectations: May float to Medical-Surgical/Telemetry units and other inpatient areas; may assist with aide-level duties when needed

Medical-Surgical/Telemetry RN Requirements

• Active Kentucky or Compact Registered Nurse license
• At least 1 year of recent Medical-Surgical/Telemetry RN experience
• Previous Level I or Level II trauma experience required
• Associate degree or nursing certificate required
• Current American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Telemetry and EKG competency; an EKG assessment is required during the compliance process
• CareView or Epic electronic health record experience preferred
• Must meet the applicable 75-mile radius eligibility rule
• Willingness to float throughout inpatient units and participate in required weekend and holiday rotations

Travel Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult Medical-Surgical and telemetry patients during 12-hour night shifts
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, recognize changes in patient condition, and initiate appropriate interventions
• Perform patient assessments, administer medications, coordinate treatments, and evaluate patient responses
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and the interdisciplinary care team to support safe, effective patient outcomes
• Accurately document nursing care in the electronic medical record
• Float to other inpatient areas as assigned and provide support with unit needs, including aide-level tasks when necessary
• Participate in every other weekend and holiday rotations as scheduled
