Travel Surgical Technologist (Operating Room Surgical Tech) – Arcata, CA

Travel Surgical Technologist Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,120-$1,200
- Assignment Type: Travel assignment
- Location: Arcata, California
- Start Date: October 6, 2026
- End Date: January 5, 2027
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Schedule: Monday-Friday day shift with shared call responsibilities, including some evenings and weekends
- Shift Duration: 12-hour day shifts
- Hours: 40 hours per week guaranteed, except during holiday weeks
- Healthcare Setting: Operating Room and Endoscopy
- Position Type: On-site
Operating Room Surgical Technologist Requirements
- At least 1 year of recent experience as a Surgical Technologist, Surgical Tech, or Operating Room Technician
- Experience serving as a scrub technologist in an operating room setting
- Ability to perform and support endoscopy cases
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Current tuberculosis clearance or screening documentation
- Knowledge of sterile technique, surgical instrumentation, and operating room safety practices
- Willingness to participate in shared call, including evening and weekend coverage
- Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills
Travel Surgical Tech Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms and surgical equipment for scheduled procedures
- Perform scrub duties while maintaining strict sterile technique
- Anticipate the needs of surgeons and other members of the surgical team
- Pass instruments, supplies, and equipment efficiently during surgical procedures
- Support endoscopy cases and ensure appropriate equipment is available and functioning
- Assist with operating room turnover, inventory control, and restocking of surgical supplies
- Follow infection prevention, patient safety, and facility policies
- Participate in shared call coverage for evenings and weekends as scheduled
