Certified Nursing Assistant Job Requirements
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
- Current BLS certification
- Minimum of 2 years of bedside clinical experience in a hospital or healthcare setting
- Ability to provide safe, respectful, and compassionate patient care
- Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills
- Commitment to patient confidentiality, HIPAA standards, and facility policies
CNA Responsibilities
- Perform routine patient care and bedside nursing tasks under the direction of a Registered Nurse
- Assist patients with activities of daily living and other care needs while promoting dignity, comfort, and safety
- Document patient care accurately and communicate patient needs or concerns to the nursing and healthcare team
- Follow safe patient-handling practices and identify and report potential hazards
- Support meal and nourishment services in accordance with prescribed diets, allergies, and patient preferences
- Prepare, deliver, and retrieve menus and verify that selections and labels reflect current diet orders
- Assist patients with menu selections and communicate food service concerns appropriately
- Maintain compliance with infection prevention, HIPAA, and quality and safety standards
- Complete related clerical tasks, including answering phones, filing, faxing, and maintaining supplies
- Participate in in-services, team meetings, and other duties that support efficient patient care
