Respiratory Therapist Job Details

• Location: Muskogee, Oklahoma
• Setting: On-site hospital environment

• Schedule: 12-hour overnight shifts, approximately 6:45 p.m.-7:15 a.m.
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week

Registered Respiratory Therapist Job Requirements

• At least 2 years of recent respiratory therapy experience in a hospital or clinical setting
• Current NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential
• Current Oklahoma respiratory therapist license
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association
• Recent experience with ventilator management, ventilator weaning, tracheostomy care, endotracheal tubes, CPAP, BiPAP, and nebulizer treatments
• Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams

Respiratory Therapist Responsibilities

• Provide cardiopulmonary diagnostic and therapeutic services to inpatient and outpatient populations
• Assist physicians with invasive and non-invasive respiratory procedures
• Administer medicated aerosol treatments using medical compressed gas
• Maintain and manage patient airways, including support for intubated and tracheostomy patients
• Manage mechanical ventilation and support ventilator weaning plans
• Perform arterial line insertions, intubations, pulmonary function studies, and cardiac and pulmonary stress testing as appropriate
• Collect and analyze blood gases while following established clinical protocols and department procedures
• Deliver timely, safe, and compassionate respiratory care in collaboration with the broader healthcare team
