Travel PTA Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,350-$1,460
• Position: Travel Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)
• Healthcare Setting: Inpatient rehabilitation
• Location: Springfield, Missouri
• Contract: Approximately 12 weeks
• Start Date: October 5, 2026
• End Date: December 28, 2026
• Schedule: 8-hour day shifts; typical hours are approximately 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Weekend hours may be 7:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Call: None
• Patient Ratio: Approximately 7 patients to 1 therapist
• Patient Population: Primarily adult and geriatric patients, with pediatric patients age 13 and older

Physical Therapist Assistant Job Requirements

• Current Physical Therapist Assistant credentials and the ability to practice as required in Missouri
• At least 1 year of experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant
• Inpatient rehabilitation or acute care experience required; skilled nursing experience may also be considered
• Strong teamwork, communication, accountability, and professional work ethic
• Ability to provide safe, compassionate patient care in a fast-paced rehabilitation environment
• Comfort working with adult, geriatric, and adolescent patients age 13 and older

Inpatient Rehabilitation PTA Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy interventions under the direction and supervision of a physical therapist
• Assist patients with mobility, transfers, strengthening, balance, endurance, and functional activities
• Support individualized rehabilitation plans for patients recovering from neurological, orthopedic, cardiac, and debility-related conditions
• Monitor patient progress, communicate observations to the physical therapy team, and document care accurately
• Promote patient safety, independence, and participation in activities of daily living
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists, physicians, patients, and families to support coordinated patient care
• Use available rehabilitation technology and equipment, including body-weight support systems and robotic therapy devices, as appropriate
