ICU Registered Nurse Job Details
- Location: Virginia Beach, Virginia
- Healthcare Setting: Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
- Schedule: 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM-7:00 PM
- Shift Duration: 12 hours per shift
- Weekly Hours: 36 hours per week when scheduled
- Assignment Dates: August 26, 2026 through August 26, 2027
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,020-$2,130
- Scheduling Requirement: Work at least one shift per month to remain active in the per diem pool
- Orientation: Weekday availability, Monday through Friday, is required
ICU Nurse Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure required
- At least 2 years of professional RN experience
- At least 1 year of recent Intensive Care Unit (ICU) or critical care nursing experience
- Current clinical knowledge and competency in critical care nursing
- Must be a local clinician able to work on site in Virginia Beach
- Ability to attend weekday orientation and maintain the required per diem schedule
Critical Care Nursing Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU
- Assess patient conditions, identify changes in status, and escalate concerns promptly
- Administer medications and treatments safely in accordance with established protocols
- Monitor vital signs, laboratory results, cardiac rhythms, and other clinical indicators
- Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and in a timely manner
- Promote patient safety, evidence-based practice, and compassionate care throughout each shift
