Seeking an experienced PCU Registered Nurse for a 12-hour night shift nursing job in Virginia Beach, Virginia. PCU Registered Nurse Job Details
- Location: Virginia Beach, Virginia
- Unit: Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
- Schedule: Night shift, 7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.
- Shift Duration: 12-hour shifts
- Hours: 36 hours per week
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,020-$2,130
- Start Date: August 26, 2026
- Assignment Duration: Approximately 52 weeks
- Work Setting: On-site
- Additional Scheduling Requirement: Availability for weekday orientation and at least one shift per month to remain active in the per diem pool
Progressive Care Nurse Job Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Virginia
- At least 2 years of professional Registered Nurse experience
- At least 1 year of recent Progressive Care Unit (PCU) nursing experience
- Strong patient assessment, prioritization, and clinical decision-making skills
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and participate in weekday orientation
- Reliable availability for ongoing per diem nursing scheduling
PCU Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to acutely ill patients requiring progressive care monitoring
- Perform ongoing patient assessments and promptly recognize changes in patient condition
- Administer medications and treatments safely in accordance with clinical standards
- Monitor patient responses to therapies and communicate changes to the interdisciplinary care team
- Collaborate with providers, nurses, patients, and families to support individualized care plans
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Promote patient safety, comfort, education, and continuity of care throughout each shift
