COTA Travel Job Details

• Location: Springfield, Missouri
• Healthcare Setting: Inpatient rehabilitation
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,350-$1,460
• Start Date: October 5, 2026
• Assignment Duration: 12 weeks, through December 28, 2026
• Shift: 8-hour days, generally 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekend Schedule: 7:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m., as scheduled
• Call: None
• Patient Population: Pediatric patients age 13 and older, adults, and geriatric patients
• Patient Ratio: Approximately 7:1
• Dress Code: Black scrubs

Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant Job Requirements

• Current Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) credential and authorization to practice in Missouri
• At least 2 years of occupational therapy assistant experience
• Inpatient rehabilitation or skilled nursing facility experience required
• Inpatient rehabilitation and/or acute care experience strongly preferred
• Strong teamwork, communication, work ethic, and professional accountability
• Ability to provide safe, compassionate occupational therapy support to patients with neurological, orthopedic, cardiac, and debility-related diagnoses
• Ability to document accurately in electronic health record systems

COTA Responsibilities

• Provide occupational therapy interventions under the direction and supervision of an occupational therapist
• Assist patients with activities of daily living, functional mobility, strengthening, coordination, and adaptive techniques
• Support individualized treatment plans designed to improve independence and safe participation in daily activities
• Work with patients recovering from strokes, brain or spinal cord injuries, amputations, orthopedic injuries, cardiac conditions, and general debility
• Use rehabilitation equipment and technology, including upper-extremity robotic and body-weight-support systems, as appropriate
• Monitor patient progress and communicate observations to the occupational therapist and interdisciplinary rehabilitation team
• Complete timely, accurate documentation using the facility’s electronic health record systems
• Promote patient safety, dignity, family involvement, and successful transition to the next level of care
