Emergency Department RN Job Details
- Location: Suffolk, Virginia 23434
- Healthcare Setting: Emergency Department
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.
- Hours: Up to 36 hours per week when scheduled
- Employment Type: Per diem Registered Nurse position
- Per Diem Requirement: Work at least 1 shift per month to remain active in the per diem pool
- Start Date: September 18, 2026
- Assignment Length: Approximately 52 weeks
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,020-$2,130
- Orientation: Monday through Friday availability is required

Emergency Department RN Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia
- At least 2 years of professional nursing experience
- At least 1 recent year of emergency department nursing experience
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced emergency care environment
- Availability to complete weekday orientation
Emergency Department Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate, and timely nursing care to emergency department patients
- Perform patient assessments, monitor clinical status, and identify changes requiring immediate attention
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with established protocols
- Collaborate with providers and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to support effective patient outcomes
- Document assessments, nursing interventions, and patient responses accurately and promptly
- Prioritize care effectively while managing multiple patients in a dynamic emergency department setting
- Support patient and family education throughout the emergency care experience
