Travel LPN Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,010-$1,060
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: April 20, 2026
• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 p.m.-7:00 a.m.; approximately 3 shifts per week
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Call: No call required
• Unit: 30-bed medical-surgical unit with typical patient ratios of 1:6
• Documentation: Meditech electronic medical record
• Dress Code: Royal blue scrubs

Medical-Surgical LPN Job Requirements

• Active LPN/LVN license eligible for practice in Texas
• At least 1 year of recent medical-surgical nursing experience
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS/BCLS) certification
• Strong critical-thinking, organization, and clinical assessment skills
• Ability to provide culturally competent care to a diverse patient population
• Adaptability in a fast-paced and changing clinical environment
• Effective communication and teamwork skills
• Preferred: IV skills, ACLS certification, and experience caring for orthopedic, renal transplant, dialysis, cardiac, pulmonary, gastrointestinal, diabetic, or wound-care patients

Travel LPN Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, compassionate nursing care to medical-surgical patients during overnight shifts.
• Perform focused assessments, monitor patient conditions, and promptly communicate changes to the care team.
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with provider orders, facility policies, and LPN scope of practice.
• Provide central-line and Foley catheter management, IV care, wound care, and other routine LPN procedures.
• Support patients with complex medical needs, including cardiac, renal, dialysis, pulmonary, gastrointestinal, diabetic, and orthopedic conditions.
• Use feeding pumps, IV pumps, lift equipment, wound VAC systems, PCA equipment, and oxygen-delivery equipment as appropriate.
• Document patient care accurately in the Meditech electronic medical record.
• Collaborate with RNs, nursing assistants, respiratory therapists, providers, patients, and families to promote quality patient outcomes.
• Promote a respectful, inclusive, and supportive care environment while maintaining unit standards and safety practices.
