Travel Nursing Job Details
- Location: Harvey, Illinois, in the Chicago metropolitan area
- Assignment Type: 13-week travel nursing contract
- Assignment Dates: October 19, 2026 – January 18, 2027
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,470-$1,550
- Schedule: Three 12-hour day shifts per week
- Shift Hours: 6:45 a.m. – 7:15 p.m.
- Weekly Hours: 36 hours
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:6
- Charting System: Epic
- Floating: Required as needed to support patient care
- Orientation: Facility orientation and required learning modules are completed at the start of the assignment
Medical-Surgical RN Job Requirements
- Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license in hand
- At least 2 years of medical-surgical nursing experience
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Recent inpatient nursing experience caring for adult and geriatric patients
- Demonstrated knowledge of telemetry, including the interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Clinical proficiency in tracheostomy care and management
- Epic charting experience preferred
- NIHSS certification preferred
- Ability to work day shifts, every other weekend, and float when needed

Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric medical-surgical patients
- Assess patient conditions, develop and implement individualized plans of care, and evaluate outcomes
- Monitor telemetry and recognize, interpret, and respond appropriately to dysrhythmias
- Perform tracheostomy care and management, coordinating with respiratory services when appropriate
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
- Document patient assessments, interventions, and responses in Epic
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary partners, including physical therapy, pharmacy, radiology, social services, and rapid response teams
- Promote patient safety, effective communication, patient education, and continuity of care
- Float to other appropriate units as requested to support inpatient care needs
