PICU Registered Nurse (RN) – Pediatric Intensive Care Travel Contract in Asheville, NC

PICU Travel Nurse Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,470-$2,600
- Nursing Specialty: Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) / Rapid Response
- Location: Asheville, North Carolina
- Assignment Type: Travel nursing contract
- Start Date: September 24, 2026
- End Date: November 19, 2026
- Contract Duration: 8 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour night shifts, 6:45 p.m.-7:15 a.m.
- Scheduled Hours: 36 hours per week
- Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours
- Overtime: Applies after 48 hours
- Openings: 1
- Orientation: 4-hour general orientation followed by an 8-hour unit shift
- Scheduling: RTO and special scheduling requests cannot be accommodated
PICU Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in North Carolina
- At least 1 year of professional nursing experience; Pediatric Intensive Care Unit or rapid-response experience is strongly preferred
- Demonstrated ability to assess and care for critically ill pediatric patients
- Strong clinical judgment, pediatric nursing, communication, and emergency response skills
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and meet the travel assignment schedule
- Professional references and completion of applicable onboarding requirements
Pediatric Critical Care Nursing Responsibilities
- Provide safe, comprehensive nursing care to pediatric patients requiring intensive monitoring and intervention
- Respond rapidly to changes in patient condition and participate in emergency stabilization efforts
- Perform focused assessments, recognize clinical deterioration, and escalate concerns appropriately
- Administer medications and treatments, monitor patient responses, and document care accurately
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, and the multidisciplinary pediatric care team
- Support family-centered care through clear communication, education, and emotional support
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused PICU environment
- Participate in orientation, education, and other required unit activities
