Certified Nursing Assistant Job Requirements
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
- At least 1 year of CNA or bedside clinical experience required; 2 years is highly preferred
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Ability to provide safe, compassionate patient care under Registered Nurse supervision
- Strong communication, organization, teamwork, and clinical documentation skills
- Commitment to patient privacy, infection prevention, workplace safety, attendance, and professional conduct
CNA Responsibilities
- Perform routine patient care and bedside nursing support under the direction of a Registered Nurse
- Assist with activities of daily living, safe patient handling, repositioning, mobility, and comfort measures
- Document patient care accurately and communicate patient needs or changes to the nursing team
- Support patient meal and nourishment processes according to prescribed diets, allergies, and documented preferences
- Help verify diet orders, labels, menus, and nourishment lists for accuracy
- Follow HIPAA, infection prevention, patient safety, and healthcare quality standards
- Identify and report workplace hazards while maintaining a safe environment for patients and staff
- Assist with unit or department needs, including clerical tasks and other duties within the CNA scope of practice
