Job Requirements
- At least 6 months of experience in a long-term care facility or similar medically oriented setting
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Workers must be obtained within 6 months of employment
- Knowledge of basic nursing assistant skills, including vital signs, output measurement, and recognition of abnormal signs and symptoms
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions accurately
- Ability to communicate clearly in simple English, both verbally and in writing
- Strong observation, reporting, and documentation skills
- Patience, tact, emotional stability, and a respectful approach to patient care
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct patient care in a long-term care environment
- Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, feeding, and hydration
- Monitor and report physical or mental changes, including abnormal signs and symptoms
- Support restorative care activities, including range of motion and use of assistive devices
- Follow infection control, universal precautions, and patient safety practices
- Use proper body mechanics while assisting patients
- Work collaboratively with the treatment team to help meet patient needs
- Document observations accurately and professionally
