Job Details
- Position: Med/Surg Tele Registered Nurse
- Employment Type: Travel Nurse Assignment
- Location: Madison, WI 53792
- Schedule: Day and night 12-hour rotating shifts
- Shift Duration: 12 hours
- Weekly Hours: 36 hours
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Start Date: 10/12/2026
- Orientation: 20 hours
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,130 – $2,250
- Setting: 28-bed acute care medical-surgical telemetry unit
- Schedule Expectations: Every other weekend rotation and holidays as needed
- Floating: Required to float to similar units as needed
Job Requirements
- Active Wisconsin RN license or compact RN license
- Current BLS certification from the AHA
- Minimum of 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty
- Epic charting experience required
- Successful completion of a telemetry exam prior to start
- Travel nursing experience required
- Strong clinical skills in telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation, blood product administration, central line care, IV insulin protocols, and rapid response support
- Comfort working with adult and geriatric patient populations
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care to medical-surgical telemetry patients
- Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond appropriately to telemetry findings
- Administer medications, blood products, and ordered therapies safely and accurately
- Support patients with oxygen therapy, IV management, insulin drips, and other specialized care needs
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to promote safe, efficient patient care
- Recognize changes in patient condition and escalate care when needed
- Float to similar units as assigned and contribute to team coverage
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Epic
- Support a professional environment that values collaboration, education, and excellence in care
