- Weekly Estimated Pay: $3,050-$3,280
- Setting: Acute care cardiac catheterization lab
- Location: Rockford, Illinois
- Trauma Level: Level I
- Average Volume: Approximately 18 cases per day across 6 suites/labs
- Shift Duration: 10-hour day shifts
- Shifts per Week: 5
- Schedule: Day shifts with call coverage; weekday schedule as assigned
- Call: Required, including weekends and holidays as assigned
- Call Response Time: 30 minutes
- Orientation: 5 shifts during the first week
- Floating: May float to EP/IR as needed
- Charting/Equipment: Epic / McKesson
Cath Lab Tech Job Requirements
- At least 3 years of cath lab experience in a hospital or acute care setting
- Experience with high-risk coronary intervention and STEMI intervention scrubbing
- Ability to scrub and circulate a STEMI case
- Willingness to learn circulating and monitoring in neuro interventional cases for call coverage
- Current Illinois license or confirmation that the application process has been initiated
- Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), ARRT, and Certified Radiologic Technologist – ARRT (R)
- Must meet screening requirements, including a negative drug screen
- Strong communication skills and the ability to thrive in a high-acuity, team-based healthcare environment
Responsibilities
- Scrub, monitor, and circulate in the cardiac cath lab
- Support coronary and neuro interventional procedures with a focus on patient safety and quality care
- Assist with high-risk interventions, including STEMI cases and urgent cardiac procedures
- Work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and the interventional care team in a 24/7 service environment
- Respond to call assignments within the required 30-minute timeframe
- Adapt to varied case needs, including potential floating to electrophysiology (EP) and interventional radiology (IR)
- Maintain accurate documentation and follow established lab protocols and infection control standards
- Contribute to a smooth, efficient workflow in a busy, high-volume cardiovascular department
