• Shift: 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Schedule: 36 hours per week
• Duration: 26 weeks
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,810 – $1,940
• Start Date: October 12, 2026
• Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend
• Holiday Coverage: Every other holiday, including 2 of the 3 winter holidays

Job Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of respiratory therapy experience
• Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
• BLS and NRP required
• Virginia state respiratory therapy license required; pending license accepted if a temporary license can be obtained before start
• PALS preferred
• ACCS preferred
• Experience in NICU, pediatric respiratory care, or pediatric critical care strongly preferred
• Must be competent with Bunnell Jet Ventilator and HFOV 3100A
• Ability to work in a self-scheduling environment and collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary healthcare team

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory care for neonates, infants, children, and adolescents across hospital units
• Support NICU, PICU, high-risk deliveries, and acute care pediatric patients
• Perform and assist with advanced respiratory procedures, including intubation support, extubation, ventilator management, CPAP/BiPAP, HFNC, and tracheostomy care
• Manage respiratory therapies and treatments such as aerosol setups, bronchodilator administration, suctioning, airway support, and pulmonary hygiene
• Monitor patient response, interpret ABGs, and communicate clearly with the care team
• Work confidently in a multidisciplinary hospital environment with strong critical thinking and communication skills
• Float within scope of practice as needed across all areas of the children’s hospital
