Med/Surg Tele Registered Nurse – Travel RN Assignment in Madison, Wisconsin

- Schedule: Night shift, 12-hour shifts
- Hours: 36 hours per week
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,130 – $2,250
- Start Date: 10/12/2026
- Orientation: 20 hours
- Weekend Coverage: Two weekends per six-week schedule period
- Additional Notes: Travelers must float as needed and complete telemetry testing prior to start
Job Requirements
- Active Wisconsin RN license or compact RN license
- Minimum of 2 years of acute care nursing experience within the last 3 years in the specialty
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Current BLS certification from AHA
- Epic experience required
- Ability to pass a telemetry assessment before the assignment begins
- Experience caring for adult and geriatric patient populations
- Willingness to float to other units as needed based on hospital needs
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate, and high-quality care to medical-surgical and telemetry patients
- Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond appropriately to telemetry findings
- Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapies according to the plan of care
- Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to support patient progress and discharge planning
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in Epic
- Support patients with common Med/Surg and telemetry needs, including respiratory support, wound care, and post-procedure care
- Remain flexible and ready to float based on unit priorities and staffing needs
- Maintain professional standards while delivering exceptional bedside nursing in a fast-paced acute care environment
