Travel Med/Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) – Madison, Wisconsin
Travel RN opportunity in Madison, WI: join a high-acuity Med/Surg Telemetry nursing team caring for adult and geriatric patients on night shift. - Position: Med/Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse (Med/Surg Tele RN)
- Employment Type: Travel Nursing Assignment
- Start Date: 10/12/2026
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Schedule: Night shift, 3×12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- Hours Per Week: 36
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,130 – $2,250
- Weekend Rotation: Two weekends per six-week schedule period, with additional weekends available if desired
- Orientation: 20 hours
- Location: Madison, WI 53718
- Setting: Modern acute care hospital / inpatient med-surg telemetry unit
Job Requirements
- Active Wisconsin RN license or compact RN license
- Minimum of 2 years of acute care nursing experience within the last 3 years in the specialty
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Epic charting experience required
- BLS certification from AHA required
- Must pass a telemetry exam prior to start
- Comfortable working nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Willingness to float as needed
- Local candidates within 50 miles are not eligible
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric Med/Surg Tele patients
- Monitor telemetry rhythms and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
- Deliver safe, effective bedside care including IV therapy, wound care, and medication administration
- Support patients with a variety of medical-surgical and telemetry diagnoses
- Document assessments, interventions, and care plans accurately in Epic
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to promote positive patient outcomes
- Float to other units as needed based on hospital operational needs
- Maintain a strong focus on patient safety, communication, and teamwork in a fast-paced acute care environment
