Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum of 1 year of recent Med/Surg nursing or acute care nursing experience
- BLS certification required
- NIHSS certification required
- Comfortable providing care for patients with wounds, tracheostomies, ostomies, drains, chest tubes, strokes, and seizures
- Ability to support patients who may require dialysis or PCA pumps
- Experience with heparin drips preferred
- Strong teamwork, communication, and adaptability in a collaborative hospital unit environment
Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, compassionate nursing care to Med/Surg patients in an acute care setting
- Perform basic patient assessments and ongoing monitoring
- Provide general care and maintenance for wounds, tracheostomies, ostomies, drains, and chest tubes
- Support post-operative patients, including amputations, oral surgeries, wound vacs, and related recovery needs
- Maintain safety checks and complete bedside shift report
- Follow infection prevention, fall prevention, and medication scanning standards
- Float as needed to support core staff and unit needs
- Document care accurately using electronic health record systems
