- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,370 – $2,500
- Shift: Days
- Shift Duration: 10 hours
- Shifts Per Week: 4 to 5 shifts per week; 40 hours preferred
- Call Requirements: 10-12 call segments per month
- Setting: Cardiovascular Operating Room
Job Requirements
- Active RN license in the state of practice or compact state eligibility
- ACLS and BLS required
- 2 years of vascular, open heart, and/or endovascular surgical experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience preferred
- CNOR certification preferred
- Completion of an OR internship or perioperative training preferred
- Ability to successfully complete a dysrhythmia exam
- Strong knowledge of sterile technique, operating room workflow, and cardiovascular surgical procedures
- Ability to work effectively in a high-acuity, fast-paced surgical environment
Responsibilities
- Provide pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative nursing care for cardiovascular surgery patients
- Conduct patient assessments and monitor condition before, during, and after procedures
- Assist the surgical team in maintaining a safe, sterile, and efficient operating room environment
- Anticipate surgical team needs, prepare supplies, and support instrumentation and equipment use
- Document patient care accurately and consistently throughout the surgical experience
- Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia, and perioperative staff to support optimal patient outcomes
- Assist with patient positioning, gowning and draping, and transport as needed
- Follow aseptic technique and infection prevention practices at all times
- Respond calmly and effectively to changing clinical needs in a high-acuity surgical setting
