RN, Resident Care Director – Assisted Living

The Role

As the RN, Resident Care Director, you will oversee clinical operations and lead a team of approximately 8-10 RNs and Medication Technicians, while partnering closely with the Wellness Nurse and broader community leadership.

Leadership & Clinical Oversight – 60%

• Lead daily clinical operations, assessments, care planning, and regulatory compliance
• Supervise, mentor, and develop the Wellness Nurse and clinical team
• Manage staffing, scheduling, onboarding, training, and performance coaching
• Conduct quality assurance and clinical improvement initiatives
• Monitor departmental budget, labor costs, and monthly reporting
• Maintain compliance with Assisted Living regulations and resident care standards

Resident Engagement & Direct Care – 40%

• Maintain a highly visible and approachable presence with residents and families
• Conduct assessments and develop/monitor Individual Service Plans (ISPs)
• Monitor changes in resident condition and coordinate appropriate interventions
• Round with physicians weekly
• Coordinate care with hospice, therapy, pharmacy, and other vendors
• Collaborate closely with caregivers and neighborhood coordinators

RN, Resident Care Director – Assisted Living

Ideal Background

We are interested in speaking with experienced RN leaders coming from a variety of healthcare settings, including:

• Resident Care Directors / RCDs
• Wellness Directors
• Assistant Directors of Nursing / ADONs
• RN Supervisors or Nurse Managers
• Assisted Living or Memory Care leaders
• Strong SNF/LTC Nurse Leaders
• RN leaders with Hospice, Home Health, or Corrections experience who understand clinical operations and are ready to transition into Senior Living

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey RN license – required
• 2+ years of RN experience in Assisted Living, LTC, or Memory Care
• 1+ year of Nurse Leadership experience as a Supervisor, Manager, ADON, Wellness Nurse, or similar
• Strong understanding of Assisted Living regulations, assessments, service planning, and clinical compliance
• CPR & First Aid certification
• EMR proficiency
• Strong communication, leadership, organization, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to build trust and positive relationships with residents, families, and staff
