Hospital Pharmacist – Inpatient Pharmacy Travel Job in Topeka, Kansas
Join a dynamic hospital pharmacy team in Topeka, KS as an inpatient hospital pharmacist. This 13-week travel pharmacist assignment offers consistent day-shift hours, Epic experience, and the opportunity to support patients from neonates through geriatrics in a collaborative acute care setting.
Job Details
- Setting: Hospital inpatient pharmacy / acute care pharmacy
- Location: Topeka, KS 66606 — a welcoming Kansas community with convenient access to local dining, parks, and everyday amenities.
- Start Date: August 31, 2026
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: Day shift, 8-hour shifts, typically 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
- Hours per Week: 40
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,920 – $2,060
- Charting System: Epic EHR
- Assignment Type: Travel pharmacist assignment
- Orientation: 24 hours onsite
- Weekend Coverage: 8 weekend shifts per contract (4 weekends)
Job Requirements
- PharmD and RPh credentials required
- Active Kansas pharmacy license in hand at time of submission
- BLS and ACLS required
- 2 years of inpatient pharmacy or acute care pharmacy experience preferred
- Knowledge of high-alert medications, anticoagulation therapy, renal dosing, and therapeutic drug monitoring
- Experience with sterile technique, IV push medications, and automated dispensing systems preferred
- Comfort working with neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
- Epic experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Review, verify, and dispense medications for hospital inpatients across multiple age groups
- Support safe medication management for high-alert therapies and anticoagulation regimens
- Perform pharmacokinetic dosing, renal dosing, and therapeutic drug monitoring
- Prepare and verify IV push medications while maintaining sterile technique standards
- Collaborate with nurses, providers, and interdisciplinary care teams to optimize patient outcomes
- Use Epic and hospital pharmacy workflows to maintain accuracy, compliance, and efficiency
- Provide clinical pharmacist support in a busy inpatient and acute care environment
- Contribute to smooth coverage during day shifts and scheduled weekend rotations
