Travel Nursing Job Details

• Position: Oncology Registered Nurse (RN)

Oncology Registered Nurse Requirements

• At least 1 year of professional Registered Nurse experience, preferably in oncology nursing or an outpatient clinical setting
• Associate Degree in Nursing, including ADN, ASN, AAS, or AAN
• Current Montana Registered Nurse license
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, organization, and prioritization skills
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment
• Proficiency with, or ability to learn, electronic health record systems and other clinical applications
• Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) credential, and outpatient oncology clinic experience
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, fine-finger movements, and lifting or moving items or patients weighing up to 50 pounds

Outpatient Oncology RN Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and identify clinical needs, diagnoses, and care priorities
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care for oncology patients
• Provide patient and family education tailored to treatment plans, health needs, and available resources
• Collaborate with patients, families, providers, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to coordinate oncology care
• Promote patient safety, quality outcomes, and a supportive outpatient care environment
• Apply current nursing standards, evidence-based oncology practices, ethical principles, and applicable regulations
• Document patient care accurately and complete required education, training, and competency activities
• Use sound clinical judgment and timely decision-making when responding to changing patient needs
• Contribute to professional development, quality improvement, and the growth of peers and colleagues
