Emergency Department RN Job Requirements
- At least 1 year of professional Registered Nurse experience, including required emergency department experience
- Active California Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
- Proof of a negative tuberculosis screening completed within 12 months before the contract start date
- Ability to work three 12-hour night shifts each week in a fast-paced emergency care environment
Emergency Room Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Perform rapid nursing assessments and prioritize patients according to acuity and clinical need
- Provide safe, evidence-based emergency nursing care to patients with urgent and emergent conditions
- Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as ordered and within the RN scope of practice
- Recognize changes in patient condition and respond promptly to clinical emergencies
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and multidisciplinary healthcare team members
- Support patient stabilization, monitoring, education, discharge planning, and transitions of care
- Accurately document assessments, interventions, patient responses, and care plans
- Maintain a compassionate, professional, and patient-centered approach throughout each shift
