Travel Nursing Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,890-$1,990
• Schedule: 12-hour day shifts, 6:30 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: November 2, 2026
• Unit: 37-bed neuro-surgical unit with typical day-shift ratios of 1:5-6
• Weekend Rotation: Three weekends every six weeks
• Holiday Rotation: Every other holiday
• Float Expectations: First to float within the nurse’s skill set, including nearby campuses when needed
• Charting: Recent Epic experience required, including completion of a charting checkoff
• Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs without competing health system or agency logos

Neuro RN Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license with a compact privilege or eligibility for an Indiana license
• At least 2 years of strong neuro nursing experience
• At least 1 year of professional nursing experience and completion of at least one travel assignment
• Level II trauma experience
• Associate degree or nursing certificate
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification
• Current NIHSS certification
• Recent Epic charting experience
• Strong neurological assessment, critical-thinking, adaptability, and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively, manage change, and support students or newly hired team members when needed
• Travel candidates must reside outside the applicable 40-mile local radius

Neuro-Surgical Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with neurological and neuro-surgical conditions, including CVAs, elective spine procedures, postoperative craniotomy patients, and cerebral angiogram patients
• Complete thorough neurological assessments, NIHSS evaluations, dysphagia screens, and ongoing changes-in-condition assessments
• Care for patients requiring telemetry monitoring and basic rhythm interpretation
• Initiate and titrate heparin infusions according to applicable protocols
• Administer blood and blood products safely and accurately
• Perform venipuncture, obtain blood cultures, and manage intravenous therapies
• Provide strict intake and output monitoring, straight catheterization, Foley catheter care, and urinary management
• Manage NG tubes, indwelling drains, and stable medication infusions
• Demonstrate sound clinical judgment, prioritize care effectively, and respond promptly to changes in patient status
• Float within the nurse’s competency and support patient care across nearby locations when assigned
