Travel Med/Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) – 8-Week Night Shift Contract in Pikeville, Kentucky
Travel Med/Surg Telemetry RN opportunity in Pikeville, Kentucky with $1,800-$1,890 weekly pay, 48 guaranteed hours, and 12-hour night shifts. Travel RN Job Details
- Location: Pikeville, Kentucky
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,800-$1,890
- Contract Length: 8 weeks
- Start Date: October 12, 2026
- End Date: December 5, 2026
- Shift: 12-hour nights, 7:00 p.m.-7:30 a.m.
- Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours per week; 36-hour schedules are not accepted
- Healthcare Setting: 340-bed Level II Trauma Center with Medical-Surgical and Telemetry units
- Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:6
- Weekend and Holiday Coverage: Every other weekend and holiday rotation required unless time off is approved
- Scheduling: No blocked scheduling
- Scrub Color: Black
Med/Surg Telemetry Nurse Requirements
- Active Kentucky or Compact Registered Nurse (RN) license
- At least 1 year of recent Registered Nurse experience in Medical-Surgical and Telemetry nursing
- Level I or Level II Trauma Center experience required
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Associate degree or nursing certificate
- Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips
- EKG assessment required during the compliance process
- CareView or Epic charting experience preferred; on-site training is available
- COVID-19 vaccination is required unless an approved medical or religious declination applies; approved declinations require weekly testing
- Strong communication, teamwork, dependability, resilience, and adaptability
Travel Nurse Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, comprehensive nursing care to Medical-Surgical and Telemetry patients
- Monitor cardiac rhythms and accurately identify and respond to changes in patient condition
- Complete patient assessments, medication administration, care planning, clinical documentation, and patient education
- Collaborate with providers and the interdisciplinary care team to coordinate treatment and discharge planning
- Float among Med/Surg and Telemetry units and other inpatient areas as needed
- Assist with aide-level duties when required to support inpatient unit operations
- Participate in scheduled weekend and holiday rotations
- Demonstrate a positive, team-oriented approach while managing change in a high-acuity healthcare environment
