Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) Travel Nurse – 13-Week Contract in West Columbia, SC
Join a dynamic surgical team as an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) in West Columbia, South Carolina. This 13-week travel nursing assignment offers the opportunity to provide perioperative nursing care in a busy hospital while supporting General, Gynecology, Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, and Robotic surgery. Located near Columbia and the scenic Congaree River, West Columbia provides convenient access to vibrant dining, outdoor recreation, and the cultural attractions of South Carolina’s capital region.
Travel Nursing Job Details
- Specialty: Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN)
- Location: West Columbia, South Carolina
- Assignment Type: 13-week travel nursing contract
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,000-$2,100
- Start Date: October 26, 2026
- End Date: January 25, 2027
- Schedule: Five 8-hour shifts per week
- Shift: 8-hour evening shifts, approximately 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
- Scheduling: Primarily weekdays; weekends and holidays may occur during the assignment
- Call: Travelers are not routinely assigned to the call rotation, though occasional coverage shifts may be needed
- Electronic Medical Record: Epic
Operating Room Nurse Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in South Carolina or a current compact-state license in hand at the time of submission
- At least 1 year of operating room nursing experience required; 2 years preferred
- Previous travel nursing experience, including at least one completed travel assignment
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
- Recent Epic documentation experience
- Ability to work confidently across multiple surgical specialties
- Professional references and complete work and education history for verification
- Willingness to work within the assignment’s travel eligibility requirements
OR RN Travel Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide safe, high-quality perioperative nursing care in a busy operating room setting
- Support surgical procedures across General, Gynecology, Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, and Robotic specialties
- Prepare operating rooms, equipment, supplies, and patients according to procedure-specific standards
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia professionals, surgical technologists, and other members of the interdisciplinary surgical team
- Maintain strict adherence to infection prevention, sterile technique, and patient safety protocols
- Accurately document patient care and perioperative activities in Epic
- Adapt to changing surgical schedules and provide occasional weekend, holiday, or coverage support as needed
