Travel Nursing Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,200-$2,320
• Location: Yuba City, California

• Nursing Shift: Day shifts, 10 hours per shift, 8:00 a.m.-6:30 p.m.
• Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday
• Patient Ratio: Approximately 2 patients per nurse
• Daily Census: Approximately 12 patients
• Orientation: 30 hours

PACU Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• At least 2 years of recent professional nursing experience, including PACU or post-anesthesia recovery experience
• Current California Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Recent experience using Epic electronic medical records (EMR)
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Strong patient assessment, critical thinking, communication, and patient advocacy skills
• Ability to provide safe nursing care to adolescent, adult, pediatric, and geriatric patients

PACU Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care to patients recovering from surgical and procedural anesthesia
• Complete pre- and post-procedure assessments and continuously monitor patients during Phase I and Phase II recovery
• Assess and manage airway status, respiratory function, circulation, pain, nausea, sedation level, and vital signs
• Recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient condition, including dysrhythmias, respiratory compromise, and other post-anesthesia complications
• Administer medications, reversal agents, emergency therapies, IV fluids, and blood products as ordered and clinically indicated
• Manage airway devices, oxygen therapy, IV access, arterial lines, central lines, and other post-operative monitoring equipment
• Support patients recovering from general, orthopedic, spine, thoracic, vascular, ophthalmology, ENT, pediatric, and other procedures
• Provide patient and family education, medication reconciliation, discharge instructions, and follow-up communication
• Collaborate with anesthesia providers, surgeons, procedural teams, and interdisciplinary support services to promote safe transitions of care
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, patient responses, and discharge readiness in Epic
