Labor & Delivery RN Job Details

- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,650-$2,790
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM-7:00 AM
- Hours: 36 hours per week
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: October 26, 2026
- Weekend Coverage: Required
Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse Requirements
- At least 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience
- Active California Registered Nurse license
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Current NRP Provider certification
- AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification
- Certifications must be current and issued by AHA or ARC when applicable
- Comfort caring for newborns and postpartum mothers
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, and prioritization skills
Labor & Delivery RN Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care throughout labor, delivery, recovery, and the postpartum period
- Perform obstetric triage and clinical assessments of laboring and antepartum patients
- Monitor maternal and fetal status using external fetal monitoring and advanced fetal surveillance techniques
- Assist with vaginal deliveries and circulate for Cesarean sections
- Care for patients receiving epidural anesthesia, magnesium sulfate, Pitocin, terbutaline, antihypertensives, and antiseizure medications
- Complete fundus, lochia, and perineum assessments and provide postpartum education
- Initiate and maintain IV access, manage pumps and drips, and administer blood and blood products as ordered
- Support newborn safety through APGAR scoring, identification banding, and appropriate transition-of-care procedures
- Collaborate with providers and interdisciplinary support teams to promote safe, evidence-based maternal and newborn outcomes
