Travel Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in Illinois, or confirmation that the Illinois license application has been initiated
- At least 1 year of recent medical-surgical nursing experience
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Ability to work 12-hour day shifts and complete 36 hours per week
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, assessment, and patient-care skills
- Ability to complete required screening and facility onboarding processes
Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients with a variety of medical and surgical conditions
- Perform patient assessments, monitor for changes, and promptly communicate clinical concerns
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, nursing colleagues, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, treatments, and discharge plans
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes accurately in Epic
- Support safe transitions of care and promote positive patient outcomes
