Patient Care Technician Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $810-$870
• Location: Springfield, Missouri
• Healthcare Setting: Inpatient rehabilitation hospital
• Assignment Type: 13-week travel assignment
• Assignment Dates: October 5, 2026-January 4, 2027
• Schedule: 36 guaranteed hours per week
• Shift: 12-hour day shifts, 6:30 a.m.-7:00 p.m.
• Weekend Coverage: Variable
• Call: None
• Patient Population: Adult rehabilitation patients
• Patient Ratio: Approximately 10:1
• Technology and Equipment: EPIC, workstations on wheels, and patient lifts
• Unit Features: Specialized stroke and brain injury care areas, therapy gyms, private patient rooms, recreational programs, and healing outdoor spaces

Patient Care Technician and CNA Requirements

• Current CNA or Patient Care Technician qualification, as applicable
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Previous inpatient rehabilitation or healthcare experience preferred
• Ability to provide safe, compassionate care to adult patients with complex medical and mobility needs
• Strong communication, teamwork, and professionalism
• Ability to work 12-hour day shifts and participate in variable weekend coverage
• No prior experience is required; candidates with floor PCA, CNA, PCT, or rehabilitation experience are encouraged to apply

Patient Care Technician Responsibilities

• Assist adult rehabilitation patients with activities of daily living, mobility, transfers, and personal care
• Use patient lifts and other safe patient-handling equipment according to established procedures
• Monitor and report changes in patient condition, comfort, behavior, and functional status to the nursing team
• Support fall prevention, infection prevention, patient safety, and comfort measures
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and supportive patient care environment
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and other members of the interdisciplinary rehabilitation team
• Document patient care and observations accurately in the EPIC electronic health record
• Encourage patient participation, mobility, recovery, and independence throughout the rehabilitation process
