ICU Registered Nurse Job Details
- Specialty: Intensive Care Unit (ICU) nursing
- Location: Williamsburg, Virginia 23188
- Schedule: Day shifts, 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
- Shift Duration: 12-hour shifts
- Hours: Approximately 36 hours per week
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,020-$2,130
- Assignment Dates: September 22, 2026 – September 22, 2027
- Schedule Requirement: Work at least one shift per month to remain active in the per diem pool
- Orientation: Weekday availability required for onboarding and orientation
- Work Setting: On-site hospital ICU
ICU RN Job Requirements
- Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license
- At least 2 years of professional RN experience
- At least 1 year of recent Intensive Care Unit (ICU) experience
- Strong critical thinking, patient assessment, and clinical nursing skills
- Ability to work 12-hour day shifts and meet per diem scheduling requirements
- Availability to complete orientation during the Monday-Friday workweek
- Commitment to safe, compassionate, and evidence-based patient care
ICU Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit
- Perform ongoing patient assessments and recognize changes in condition
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with clinical protocols
- Monitor patients, interpret clinical data, and promptly communicate concerns to the care team
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to support positive patient outcomes
- Maintain accurate, timely, and complete clinical documentation
- Support a safe patient environment and uphold high standards of quality critical care
