Travel RN Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,800-$1,890

• Schedule: 36 hours per week
• Shift: 12-hour nights, 6:45 p.m. to 7:15 a.m.
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Unit Profile: 40-bed progressive care unit with typical nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4, with stretch staffing up to 1:5
• Documentation: Cerner electronic medical record

PCU Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in North Carolina
• At least 1 year of recent progressive care, stepdown, or comparable acute care nursing experience
• Recent telemetry nursing experience
• Demonstrated experience managing titratable or cardiac intravenous medications, such as nitroglycerin, diltiazem, amiodarone, dopamine, insulin, heparin, or diuretics
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Strong clinical judgment, adaptability, and commitment to compassionate patient care
• Willingness to float to designated medical-surgical, stepdown, COVID, and emergency department holding areas as needed

Progressive Care RN Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with congestive heart failure, myocardial infarction, chest pain, arrhythmias, pulmonary hypertension, valvular disease, endocarditis, diabetic ketoacidosis, and post-cardiac procedures
• Care for patients recovering from cardiac catheterization, stent placement, pacemaker or ICD procedures, and ablation
• Monitor telemetry, assess changing patient conditions, and promptly communicate clinical concerns
• Safely administer and titrate cardiac and critical-care medications according to orders and unit protocols
• Perform focused assessments, medication administration, care planning, patient education, and accurate electronic documentation
• Participate in bedside cardioversion and other progressive care procedures within scope and competency
• Collaborate with providers, technicians, support staff, and families to coordinate individualized patient care
• Support a positive team environment through flexibility, professionalism, and compassionate communication
