Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Inpatient Rehabilitation | 13-Week Night Shift Contract in San Antonio, TX

Travel Nursing Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,350-$1,420

• Shift: 12-hour nights, 7:00 p.m.-7:00 a.m.

• Weekend Coverage: Preferably four weekend days per month; flexible scheduling
• Patient Population: Inpatient rehabilitation patients
• Typical Patient Ratio: 5-6 patients per nurse
• Unit Environment: 42-bed rehabilitation unit with RN, LVN, patient care technician, and charge nurse support
• Documentation System: Meditech
• Attire: Navy scrubs

Travel RN Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Texas
• Current CPR certification
• At least 1 year of professional nursing experience
• Inpatient rehabilitation nursing experience preferred
• Meditech documentation experience preferred
• Strong patient assessment, clinical judgment, communication, and organizational skills
• Commitment to compassionate patient care and effective collaboration with PT, OT, speech therapy, dietary, nursing, and other disciplines
• Ability to float to medical-surgical and medical-oncology areas as needed

Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients recovering from illness, injury, surgery, or functional limitations.
• Complete nursing assessments, develop individualized care plans, administer medications, and evaluate patient progress.
• Perform or assist with lab draws, IV and catheter placement, diabetes management, wound care, and ostomy care.
• Use clinical equipment such as Hoyer lifts, sequential compression devices, wound vacs, smart pumps, and external urinary management devices safely and effectively.
• Support fall prevention initiatives and follow established patient safety protocols.
• Document patient care accurately in Meditech.
• Partner with patients, families, and multidisciplinary rehabilitation professionals to promote recovery and independence.
• Communicate changes in patient condition promptly and contribute to a positive, team-oriented care environment.
