Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- At least 1 year of recent acute medical-surgical nursing experience required
- Telemetry nurse experience strongly preferred
- Ability to care for 4-6 patients at a time in a busy acute care setting
- Experience with neuro, neurosurgery, ortho, CVA, TIA, or AMS patients preferred
- Strong communication, documentation, and teamwork skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced hospital environment
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate, and high-quality nursing care to medical-surgical and telemetry patients
- Monitor patient status closely and respond promptly to changes in condition
- Administer medications and complete standard nursing procedures
- Perform IV insertions, urinary catheter insertion and maintenance, and central line maintenance
- Assist with continuous bladder irrigation and NGT insertion/maintenance as needed
- Accurately document patient care in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Collaborate with physicians, support staff, and the interdisciplinary care team to support positive outcomes
- Deliver patient-centered care in a team-focused healthcare environment
