Travel Nurse Job Details
- Assignment Type: Travel RN
- Specialty: Labor & Delivery / Obstetric Nursing
- Location: Anchorage, Alaska
- Start Date: ASAP
- Duration: 13 or 26 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour night shifts
- Schedule Options: 3×12 or 4×12 nights
- Hours per Week: 36
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,370 – $2,500
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- On-Call: Not required
- Floating: May float within scope to support facility needs
- Charting System: Epic
- Orientation: Provided prior to start
Labor & Delivery RN Job Requirements
- Active Alaska RN license in hand required for auto offer; pending license may be submitted for review
- Minimum of 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery experience required
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required
- AWHONN Intermediate and AWHONN Advanced certifications required
- NRP certification required
- Experience with Epic charting required
- Charge nurse experience preferred, or willingness to train in charge responsibilities
- Must live at least 50 miles from the facility
- Must be willing to work 2 of the 3 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year
- References required during the compliance process
Responsibilities
- Provide skilled nursing care in Labor & Delivery, Antepartum, and OB Triage settings
- Monitor fetal status and support labor management using external and internal fetal monitoring
- Assist with high-risk deliveries, cesarean sections, and recovery care
- Support patients through triage, testing, induction, and antepartum care
- Perform assessments, interventions, and documentation using Epic
- Administer medications and therapies per protocol, including IVs, Pitocin, magnesium sulfate, and insulin drips as applicable
- Collaborate with providers and interdisciplinary team members to deliver safe, compassionate maternal care
- Assist with newborn stabilization, APGAR scoring, and postpartum support
- Educate and support patients and families throughout labor, delivery, and recovery
- Contribute to a supportive, team-oriented environment focused on quality outcomes
