We are seeking a confident, adaptable Operating Room RN or Perioperative Nurse who thrives in a collaborative surgical setting and is ready to contribute to excellent patient care across a broad range of specialties. - Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,270 – $2,400
- Shift: 10-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
- Hours per Week: 40
- Schedule: 4 shifts per week
- Weekend Coverage: 4 off-shifts per 6-week schedule
- On-Call: 4 calls per 6-week period with a 1-hour response time
- Holiday Requirement: Required as scheduled
- Orientation: 24 hours
- Charting System: Epic preferred
Job Requirements
- Active Maryland RN license or compact license at time of submission
- Current BLS certification from AHA required
- CNOR preferred
- At least 1 year of recent Operating Room nursing experience required
- Previous charge nurse experience required
- Ability to work in a high-acuity, fast-paced surgical environment
- Comfortable with weekend, holiday, and on-call coverage as assigned
- Flu vaccination required; COVID-19 vaccination not required
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented approach
- First-time travelers accepted
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate, and efficient perioperative nursing care in the operating room
- Assist with a broad range of surgical procedures, including general, orthopedic, thoracic, vascular, pediatric, urologic, gynecologic, ENT, and robotic cases
- Maintain sterile technique and uphold surgical safety standards throughout each case
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and the perioperative team to support optimal patient outcomes
- Prepare the OR for cases, manage instruments and supplies, and support turnover efficiency
- Monitor patients closely during procedures and respond appropriately to intraoperative needs
- Follow infection prevention, specimen handling, and universal protocol procedures
- Float within scope as needed and remain flexible to changing unit needs
- Contribute to a positive, professional team environment focused on quality patient care
