Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse Travel Nurse Job in Eureka, California
Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse travel assignment in Eureka, California, offering the opportunity to provide high-acuity obstetric care in a scenic North Coast community. Join a fast-paced maternity team and care for laboring, postpartum, and newborn patients in a culturally diverse setting. This is an excellent travel nursing opportunity for an experienced RN with strong labor and delivery, cesarean section, and postpartum skills.

- Position: Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse
- Type: Travel nursing assignment
- Location: Eureka, CA 95501
- Start Date: ASAP
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,480 – $2,610
- Shift: Night shift, 3×12-hour schedule
- Shift Duration: 12 hours
- Shifts Per Week: 3
- Orientation: 40 hours
- Scheduling: Self-scheduling
- Weekend Requirement: Yes, to meet staffing needs
- Float Requirement: Yes, based on facility needs and within scope
- Time Off: Limited time off requested up front during submission
Job Requirements
- At least 1 year of Labor & Delivery nursing experience required
- California RN license required; compact license must be in hand at submission if applicable
- Current BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate certifications required
- Experience with Epic charting required
- Strong skills in antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn care
- Ability to care for high-risk obstetric patients and a culturally diverse population
- Comfort circulating cesarean sections and supporting emergent obstetric situations
- Ability to work with minimal time off and maintain flexibility for scheduling and floating needs
- Postpartum experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate care to laboring, postpartum, and newborn patients
- Monitor fetal and maternal status using obstetric assessment tools and continuous monitoring as indicated
- Assist with vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, and recovery care
- Support high-risk deliveries and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
- Perform assessments, interventions, and patient education throughout the birth experience
- Collaborate with physicians, anesthesia, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure excellent outcomes
- Provide postpartum teaching, breastfeeding support, and newborn care education
- Float within scope to meet facility needs when requested
- Maintain accurate documentation in Epic and follow unit protocols for quality patient care
