Medical Laboratory Technologist Job Requirements
- At least 1 year of laboratory experience required
- One of the following certifications required: ASCP MLT, ASCP MLS, AMT MLT, or AMT MLS
- Generalist laboratory experience strongly preferred
- Experience in a hospital lab or clinical laboratory setting preferred
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a changing environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality patient care
- Background without Blood Bank history is preferred
Responsibilities
- Perform routine and specialized generalist laboratory procedures
- Operate and support instrumentation commonly used in the clinical laboratory
- Ensure accurate, timely processing and reporting of specimen results
- Maintain quality standards and follow established laboratory protocols
- Collaborate with supervisors and fellow laboratory staff to support workflow
- Adapt to rotating needs across shifts while maintaining excellent service
- Contribute to a positive, patient-focused healthcare team environment
