Labor & Delivery RN Travel Nurse Job in Eureka, California

- Shift Duration: 12-hour day shifts
- Hours per Week: 36
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,480 – $2,610
- Orientation: 40 hours
- Weekend Requirement: Yes, based on staffing needs
- Float Requirement: Yes, within scope to meet facility needs
- Patient Population: High-risk OB, postpartum, and newborn care
- Charting System: Epic
Job Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of Labor & Delivery RN experience required
- Current California RN license required
- Active BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate certifications required
- Epic charting experience required
- Strong experience with patient ratios of 1:3 preferred
- Ability to care for high-risk OB patients in a fast-paced maternity setting
- Postpartum nursing experience preferred
- Comfort working with a culturally diverse patient population
- Strong communication, teamwork, and adaptability skills
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care for laboring, postpartum, and newborn patients
- Monitor fetal and maternal status and respond to changes in condition promptly
- Circulate for cesarean sections and assist with high-risk deliveries
- Support vaginal births, triage, and obstetrical assessments
- Perform newborn assessments, newborn hypoglycemia monitoring, and thermoregulation support
- Administer and monitor medications and therapies such as Pitocin, magnesium sulfate, and IV fluids
- Assist with patient education, discharge teaching, breastfeeding support, and newborn care guidance
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide safe, family-centered maternity care
- Float within scope to support facility needs as assigned
- Maintain accurate documentation and follow unit protocols in Epic
